Trapped In The Margins

“Titles are easy but content is difficult.”

I find myself repeating this phrase to myself every time I want to write something here. WordPress used to be my safe haven on the Internet. It was a place where I could truly express myself without the fear of judgment from my peers. My use of the website has evolved over four years and my content has never truly fit into a perfect category. Most of my followers are from my poetry, while few follow my journey for posts like this one. To be honest, I prefer posts like this because it allows me to fully articulate a thought. My poetry is usually a spur of the moment idea fueled by the fervor of unfulfilled teen angst. These posts fulfill the illusion that I am a functioning young adult that is making her way in the world. Usually, I let everyone think that I have it together because that’s all people have expected of me. I was never the person to fall apart or be unorganized. Then again, I never let people into the organized chaos that is my brain…until now.

My life is not organized whatsoever and I am tired of trying to fit into one category. Life is boring when one is relegated to a specific thing forever. My life is chaotic because I have been moving around, meeting people, attending school full-time, working part-time, and trying to be my best self. It’s exhausting and I love it. So what comes next?

From now on, this blog will have four different types of content. My poetry will continue because it will always be an outlet for immediate catharsis. Posts like this will increase because I need to sort the nonsense out in a coherent manner that is not related to academia. But I would also like to introduce two new types of content – travel and environmental. My travel posts will be from my upcoming semester abroad in the Philippines. The environmental posts will be centering around cultural differences, environmental issues, and my place in it all. Stick around if this sounds interesting to you but I completely understand if it doesn’t. I am excited to be embarking in this new chapter of my life and I plan on taking all of you with me.
