I wrote my first WordPress post on my new site titled “Welcome to Adulthood” to a great response three years ago. It was passionate and informed which is why it was so well received. The posts that followed were less expressive and received little feedback so I withdrew from writing longer posts. I began to fall back onto the familiar crutch of poetry, even though I felt that my poetry was worse than my long-form writing. I spent the next three years writing great hits and utter failures. But it’s all a part of growing up.
This post is titled “Welcome to Adulthood pt. 2” because it feels right to return to where it all began. The original post was my way of introducing myself after deleting my original WordPress. This post is the same. I thought it was time to reintroduce myself.
Hi, my name is LeeAnn and I am a graduate student at a small liberal arts college in New York. I am pursuing a dual degree in International Development and Business Administration. I have spent the past two years studying abroad in various institutions across the world. I have spent a year of my life overseas living in England, Italy, and the Philippines. My life abroad was one full of adventure but it mostly consisted of mundane days where I had to do homework or laundry. I don’t consider myself a world traveler but it’s a title that has been bestowed upon me by acquaintances, friends, and family. I like to consider myself a person that had a dream which later turned into a goal. My dream was to visit London but I ended up seeing the world.
Writing has been my passion since I was a child but I have no plans on becoming a writer. I fell into the blogging world because I followed bloggers that wanted to become writers. I thought I wanted the same thing. But I have discovered what I want to do in life. You’ll just have to join me to see what happens.
